Princeton-Mercer County Chamber of Commerce Autumnfest

SCARECROW COMPETITION

It’s time for scarecrows again ladies and gentleman! Once again City National Bank will be in charge of the scarecrow contest for Autumn Fest. We would like this year to be the biggest year we have ever had especially in participation. We have tweaked the process a little this year and have changed the following:

 

  • The scarecrow does not have to be tailored to your business. You can create the scarecrow to look however you would like. No obscene gestures please, make it family friendly as always.
  • We will be collecting ‘penny votes’ once again, however, this year whomever collects the most money will get to choose the non-profit organization they would like all the donations to go to. Each place should have a secure jar to collect the money in.
  • The only scarecrow we are asking to be moved to Autumn Fest will be the winner of the competition. If you need help moving it please let me know and I will arrange to make that happen! Tally for votes will be done on Friday, September 23 rd so I will be able to contact you that day and let you know if you are the winner! I hope to be in contact with you by 2pm to let you know.
  • Scarecrows will need to be set up by September 1 st again and voting will end September 22 nd. We would like to have all applications in no later than August 29 th if you are going to participate. It is CRUCIAL that they are up by September 1 st so WVVA can feature each one. Please have all the money to City National Bank on September 23 rd by 1:00 pm so it can be counted and a winner can be determined.
  • Keith Circle, located at the chamber office, will need a picture sent to him of each scarecrow so he can place them on the chamber website. The email address they need to be sent to is pmccc@frontiernet.net. All pictures need sent to Keith on September 1 st. We have to have all pictures to WVVA by September 2 ndin order for them to be featured. If he does not have the picture on this day your scarecrow will not make it to the website or the commercial.
  • WVVA has agreed to do a 10 second commercial and route people to the website to check out the scarecrows. This not only promotes Autumn Fest and the scarecrows, but your business as well. We will be talking to the paper as well to try to get them to come out and do interviews again.

We would love to see everyone participate this year and collect tons of money for the charity of the winners choosing. The first year was a huge success and we are hoping to top that this year.
